As reported by The New York Times Magazine, Rem Koolhaas – who made the infamous look-a-like theater Prada store in New York – will design the new exhibition space of Milan-based Prada Foundation.
After more than a decade at Via Fogazzaro, the foundation is going to move into a former warehouse located in the southern part of Milan. This new headquarters, a concrete-and-glass complex, like a campus, will host Prada’s collection as well as temporary museum-like retrospectives and solo shows of contemporary artists.
Under the artistic direction of Germano Celant, the foundation organized colossal productions by Tobias Rehberger, Francesco Vezzoli, Carsten Höller, Mariko Mori and Barry McGee as well as off-site projects – as for Thomas Demand in Venice – as well as festivals of Russian and Chinese cinema.
